Content Academies

The Content Academies initiative equips current and future educators across Texas, including teachers, instructional coaches, and school and district administrators, with research-based, high-quality professional learning that advances student success in literacy and mathematics. Through aligned and comprehensive professional development, the Academies ensure that every educator and leader has the tools, knowledge, and support needed to strengthen instruction and improve student outcomes. 

Texas Mathematics Academies

Building K–5 educators’ math skills through TEKS-aligned, research-based professional learning.

Texas Reading Academies

Building K–3 educators’ reading skills through TEKS-aligned, research-based professional learning.

Texas Intervention Academies

Building K–8 educators’ reading and mathematics skills through evidence‑based professional learning.

Content Academies aim to integrate legislative requirements with a vision for long-term educator growth, and: 

• Provide continuity of support across grade levels;
• Offer targeted intervention opportunities to address the needs of students requiring additional literacy or mathematics support; and
• Foster alignment across Reading and Mathematics, so all students, regardless of grade level or learning need, gain the essential skills for college, career, and lifelong success. 

Together, these efforts represent Texas’s commitment to empowering educators and leaders, strengthening instructional practice, and ensuring every student can achieve their highest potential in reading and math.
