Certification information for Texas teachers and those seeking Texas certification:
Assignment information for Texas teachers and school districts:
The following districts have been approved to delay implementation of teacher certification requirements for foundation curriculum courses until the beginning of the 2029–2030 academic year. Each link directs to the district’s locally approved plan outlining how the district will transition to full certification by the deadline. This list is current as of March 11, 2026, and will be updated weekly.
NOTE: Although the closed on March 2, 2026, ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆÁ understands that some districts were unable to schedule board meetings to approve their local plans until late February or early March. For this reason, the agency is extending the application submission window through March 31, 2026. With this extension, ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆÁ now anticipates notifying all districts of their final status by April 17, 2026. We hope this additional time is helpful to districts. Please contact the Division of Educator Certification directly with any questions or concerns.
Districts that submitted applications by the original March 2 deadline will still receive notification of their status no later than March 31, 2026.
There are 553 approved districts. For additional information or questions regarding a district’s plan, please contact the district directly.
